Beginner Pointe, Intermediate Pointe, Intensive Ballet & Advanced II Ballet and Pointe
Brittany Brignac Devall has been studying dance for twenty five years. She studied with the Baton Rouge Ballet Theater at the Dancers' Workshop. During her training there, she performed in the Baton Rouge Ballet Theater's "The Nutcracker" for seven consecutive years and made multiple appearances in the BRBT "Spring Concert". In high school, Brittany was a member of the Parkview Baptist "Silver Stepper" dance team. While in high school, she was chosen to be a staff member of the Universal Dance Association and named an American All-Star. Brittany has danced at Broadway Dance Center in New York City and also served as a judge for numerous dance team auditions. During college, Brittany furthered her training at Tari's School of Dance, taught at Jete Dance Company, and was a Louisiana State University Golden Girl for two years. She is a graduate in Fashion Merchandising from Louisiana State University. Brittany has been teaching at Covington Dance Company for seven years.
Kristie Price Faust
Advanced I Intensive Tap & Company Tap
Kristie Price Faust has been dancing for over 25 years. She was a member of the Loranger High Wolfette dance team for 4 years. While dancing as a Wolfette, she was selected as an American All-Star dancer and served as Captain. Kristie was also the owner and director of a local dance studio for 8 years offering ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical instruction. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2003 as a registered nurse and from the University of South Alabama in 2011 as a pediatric nurse practitioner.
Heather Crowe Simmons
Teen Jazz & Lyrical; Hip Hop 3
Heather Crowe Simmons began dancing at the age of 3. She attended Rowanna Currier’s studio of dance for 14 years, where she was a member of the Louisiana Heat Dance Company for 3 years. Heather was a Jackette at Oak Forest Academy for 6 years, where she served as Captain her 9th & 12th grade years. She was also selected as an American All-Star for 3 years & got the opportunity to travel to London, England to perform. After high school, Heather went on to dance for the SLU Lionette Dance Team for 4 years & performed at the UDA Collegiate Nationals each year in Orlando, Florida. While finishing her college degree, she was chosen to be a member of the New Orleans Saintsation Dance Team. Heather is a graduate in Elementary Education from Southeastern Louisiana University.
Hip Hop 1, 2 & 4
Delany Johnson began dancing at the age of 3. She attended Mrs. Rowanna Currier's Studio of Dance, where she studied tap and ballet. She also attended Center Stage Studio and studied hip hop. She has danced with Covington Dance Company for the past 8 years, studying tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop. She was a member of Covington Dance Company's Company Class for 4 years also serving as an assistant teacher for hip hop. Delany graduated from Oak Forest Academy. She was a member of the JV Jackettes for 3 years and served as dance committee chairperson. She also was a Varsity Cheerleader for 3 years. Delany is currently attending North Shore Community College, where she will receive a degree in Medical Assistant. Dancing has always been an enjoyment for Delany. She is thankful for having this opportunity to share and enhance her dance technique with other dancers.
Choreography & Hip Hop 4
Anna Smith is from the small town of Franklinton and has been dancing for 28 years. She grew up dancing competitively in the studio and was the captain of her jr. high and high school dance team. She extended her dance career at Louisiana State University where she was a member of the LSU Tiger Girls dance team. After 2 years, she transferred to the University of Louisiana at Monroe and was a member of the dance team, currently known as the Hawkline.
Anna has taught at and choreographed for studios across the state. She was the sponsor for the West Monroe High school dance team, and has held numerous summer camps for local jr. high and high school dance teams.
Anna has a B.S. degree in Business Administration and a B.A. degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. She currently works as a Realtor for K2 Realty in Covington. She and her husband, Kent recently decided to plant their roots in Amite with their 4 children, Malia, Knox, Giselle and Giuliana.
Anna loves sharing her passion of dance and is thrilled to be a part of Covington Dance Company this year!
Beginner II Ballet & Tap, Mini Jazz, Intermediate I Ballet & Tap & Intermediate II Ballet & Tap
Stacey Hausey has been studying dance for over 40 years. For 23 consecutive years she studied with the Baton Rouge Talent Academy, where she choreographed and was a lead dancer for eight years. During her time at BRTA, Stacey was chosen to study under the direction of internationally known choreographer and teacher Joe Tremaine. Stacey’s training includes ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical dance. She was a member of the Baker High School Dance Team for two years, and received numerous accolades through Super Star Drill Team where she was also chosen to be a staff member her senior year. Through her dance career, she provided choreography for BREC theatre programs and other groups in the Baton Rouge area. Stacey was the owner and director of a dance studio for 17 years offering classes in ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical instruction. Stacey is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue her dance career and share her passion for dance with the students of Covington Dance Company.
Jr. & Intermediate Jazz
Carolyn Reed is currently teaching Jr. and Intermediate Jazz at Covington Dance Company. She began her dance career at the age of 3 and attended Rowanna Currier's Studio of Dance. She also studied ballet at Fellom Ballet School and then attended Marci's Dance Studio and Center Stage Dance Studio. Carolyn then found her home at CDC where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pointe, and hip hop for 8 years. She was a part of the Company Team at CDC for 4 years and was an assistant teacher for Teen Jazz. While in highschool, she was a member of the JV and Varsity Jackettes Dance Team at Oak Forest Academy where she served as captain her freshman and senior years. She was chosen as a UDA All-American Dancer her sophomore, junior, and senior years. After graduating high school in 2017, Carolyn began her college career at Louisiana State University and continued to study dance from the LSU School of Theatre her freshman year. She is currently a senior majoring in Nutritional Sciences/ Dietetics and will graduate in May 2021. Carolyn is excited for her first year on staff and thankful for the opportunity to continue her dance career and share her passion of dance!
